Small Business Saturday
Show support for local businesses and your community by shopping and dining locally on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Businesses throughout the district get into the spirit of Small Business Saturday with special offers, free treats, and other activities.
Eat, Shop & Be Merry in Downtown Alameda
From Shop Late Thursdays to our popular Hot Cocoa Crawl, downtown merchants have plenty to offer for a festive holiday shopping experience. In addition, look for Santa to be out and about in the downtown district. And, to make shopping downtown easier, the parking meters are FREE on every weekend.
Mayor's Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration
Enjoy performances from community groups and special guests followed by the tree lighting ceremony. Activities take place in front of City Hall.
2019 District Events
Downtown Easter Egg Hunt
Kids and their families are invited to take part in a Downtown Egg Hunt on the Saturday preceding Easter. Over 25 businesses participate by providing free treats and family activities.
Downtown Alameda Spring Festival
Art, crafts, and wine! The Downtown Alameda Spring Festival is a Mother's Day tradition in the San Francisco Bay Area. The popular street fair takes place on Park Street every year during the second weekend in May.
Mayor's Fourth of July Parade
The Alameda Mayor’s 4th of July Parade is one of the largest Independence Day parades in the nation. The best viewing spots can be found on Park Street at the beginning of the parade.
Downtown Alameda Art & Wine Faire
The Downtown Alameda Art & Wine Faire is Alameda's biggest annual event. The street festival takes place every year during the last weekend of July.
Downtown Alameda Classic Car Show
The Downtown Alameda Classic Car Show brings over 400 classic vehicles to Alameda’s historic Park Street district. The one-day event usually takes place on the second Saturday in October.
Downtown Alameda merchants are delighted to provide a safe place to trick-or-treat on Halloween. Kids in costume can collect sweet treats from participating businesses.
