New Executive Director Joins Downtown Alameda
The Downtown Alameda Business Association board of directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Kathryn Weber as its new Executive Director. Kathy Weber officially joined the Downtown Alameda Business Association on March 9.
“Kathy comes to us at an exciting time in the evolution of Alameda’s downtown,” said Otto Wright, President of the Downtown Association. “With an extraordinary background that will contribute to the continued growth of our district, she has a keen understanding of business associations and the ability to help us create and execute our long-term strategic plan and vision.”
Kathy has more than ten years of experience running downtown associations, first as Director of the Downtown Marquette Association (Michigan) and then as Events Manager with Benicia Main Street. Most recently, she served as Corporate Partnership & Events Manager with Alameda County Community Food Bank.
“Alameda’s downtown business district is rapidly becoming a destination for both islanders and the greater East Bay. With new restaurants, bars, shops, and entertainment, the district is a hub of retail, arts and culture, and entertainment,” comments Kathy. “I am so excited to join the team and work with the business and property owners, staff, and customers who make the district so vibrant!”
