Last Minute New Year’s Eve Ideas in Downtown Alameda

Looking for last minute NYE plans? It’s almost time to toast to 2024, and there are still plenty of ways to celebrate right here in Downtown Alameda. Meet up with family and friends at a favorite restaurant or extend the evening by ringing in the new year at one of the district’s many gathering spots (and try to catch a performance of Auld Lang Syne on the bagpipes at one of the bars to raise money for ACS). There’s even a balloon drop at noon for the little ones, and a family friendly, all-night carnival!

Featured Celebrations:

New Year’s Eve Bash @ Alameda Theatre
Countdown to 2024 with a family friendly, all-night carnival at the Alameda Theatre! Enjoy games and attractions suitable for all ages from the moment the doors open at 5pm. Plus Ozzy’s Music Academy Kids perform LIVE on the Historic Theatre Stage, followed by a NYC Times Square Simulcast Ball Drop, kid friendly feature of MIGRATION, and then Airwaves perform LIVE on the Historic Theatre Stage to rock in the New Year.

NYE Afro Gatsby: Harlem Nights @ Karibu Wine Lounge
It’s that time of the year again! Join Karibu Wine Lounge for the Third Annual AfroGatsby Extravaganza, where they are bringing the glamour of Harlem Nights to life. Prepare for a night filled with the soulful beats of music, delectable catered bites, and the exhilaration of casino games. Your ticket grants you access to complimentary bites, a sparkling midnight toast, and the chance to try your luck at blackjack and craps. Don’t miss out on this elegant affair!

New Year’s Eve with Myles Weber @ Alameda Comedy Club

New Year’s Eve @ MO’s Wine Bar
Toast to 2024 at the district’s newest wine bar! They will have food specials, drink specials (hello, champagne & caviar) and guest DJ Justyn Myers. End the year in style from 8pm-after midnight.

Noon Year’s Eve @ Twirl
Enjoy some fun in the studio with your little one, with cookie decorating, New Years crafts and more. Balloons drop at noon and then get back home just before nap time hits.

Alameda Hogmabay Pipe-athon for ACS @ Every Bar in Alameda
Andy MacKay will be playing Auld Lang Syne on the bagpipes in every bar in Alameda to bring a wee bit of Scottish New Year Cheer to all, and will be fundraising for a worthy cause, American Cancer Society. You can donate online here and also on the night as they make their way around the City of Alameda, starting around 6pm in McGee’s on Park Street, followed by Park Street Tavern, Preacher’s Daughter, Mo’s Wine Bar, Speisekammer, Lemon Drop, Star Pizza, Hobnob, Lucky 13, Club House and more…

More New Year’s Celebrations:

For additional family activities, High Scores Arcade will be open 12:00-10:00pm for unlimited gaming on New Year’s Eve, and Subpar Miniature Golf will be open from 10:00am-6:00pm for indoor mini golf (reservations recommended), arcade games and pool tables.

And if you’re looking for a last-minute gathering place with a 21+ audience on New Year’s Eve, these Downtown Alameda nightspots provide plenty of festive fun (you may even catch Auld Lang Syne on the bagpipes!) — no reservations required:
